Here's whats scheduled for Smackdown:

  • WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: AJ Styles defends against Drew Gulak

  • Michael Cole conducts an in-ring interview with Matt Riddle

  • Sheamus presents a toast to Jeff Hardy

  • Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman - Wyatt Swamp Fight preview

We kick off the show with Michael Cole in the ring. He calls out Matt Riddle for an in-ring interview. We see highlights of Riddle beating AJ Styles 2 weeks ago. Cole asks Riddle what beating Styles meant to him. Riddle talks about his match with Styles and celebrating with the whole roster. Riddle says he likes Styles more than Styles him. Cole brings up that Riddle doesn't wear shoes. Riddle gives a long story about why he doesn't wear them because he got frost bite on his feet as a kid and can't feel his feet. Cole asks what's next for Riddle and here comes KING CORBIN! Corbin makes fun of the fact that Riddle doesn't wear shoes. Corbin then runs down Cole and tells him to get out of the ring. Corbin talks about Riddle hitting the Floating Bro on him at the end of the show last week. Riddle should be bowing down to him. Corbin tells him that no one on Smackdown likes him and he needs to be ready for a match at anytime. Riddle challenges Corbin and Corbin declines but says this man will teach Riddle a lesson and it's........John Morrison who's accompanied by The Miz.

Matt Riddle defeated John Morrison w/ The Miz using a roll up. Corbin was on commentary until Riddle threw a flip flop at him. Then he stayed ringside. This was a good match and another good performance by Riddle as he builds momentum. Post match, AJ Styles attacks Riddle on the ramp. Drew Gulak comes out to stop Styles. Refs come out to break things up. Styles vs. Gulak is next!

Backstage, King Corbin is talking with The Miz and John Morrison. Corbin says he knows how to pull some strings around here and he'll make sure he legs get cut from Matt Riddle's career.

AJ Styles successfully defended the WWE Intercontinental championship against Drew Gulak. Styles pinned Gulak after the Styles Clash and the Phenomenal Forearm. Commentary had intermittent talks with Daniel Bryan throughout the match to get his perspective on things.

Sasha Banks and Bayley are seen walking out of the production truck. Their own Smackdown tribute to themselves is next.

WWE Women's Tag Team champions Sasha Banks and Bayley (also WWE Smackdown Women's champ) make their way to the ring. They talk about how they've been on all three brands and still get no respect. They say one person does have respect. It's the Undertaker. Bayley claims Taker called her and was embarrassed because of his tribute because they're the greatest champions in history. Bayley also claims Taker said he can't wait for them to hold all the gold and that we should respect them and have a tribute for them. They want to do the tribute tonight. They roll the footage for the tribute. It's well done. They thank each other and here comes Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross! They talk about their own accomplishments. They crumbled their papers they're reading off of and get in the ring. Banks and Bayley insult them so Bliss slaps Bayley! Banks offers Bliss a match against Bayley much like Bayley has done to Banks lately. Bliss accepts and it's next.

Bayley defeated Alexa Bliss by DQ when Nikki Cross nails Bayley with a right hand. After the match, Cross attacks Bayley and goes for a bulldog but Banks pulls Bayley to safety.

Commentary hypes the toast from Sheamus to Jeff Hardy scheduled for later.

Up next, we preview the Wyatt Swamp Fight involving Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman.

Braun Strowman talks about their past and how became the apocalypse for Bray. Braun talked about how he has tried to tuck that part of him away but in order to destroy Bray, he must become that person again. Braun says he'll drag Bray to the swamp and let the alligators finish. We hear laughing from both men to end it.

Here comes the New Day. Kofi Kingston faces Shinsuke Nakamura next. Big E and Cesaro will be ringside.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kofi Kingston after hitting a Kinshasa. Cesaro comes back to celebrate and he gets a table out from under the ring. Big E comes back and the heels bail. It appears as though they are teasing a future tables match.

Next week on Smackdown, they will air the Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt Money in the Bank match, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross will face Sasha Banks and Bayley in a non-title tag team match, and the New Day will defend the WWE Smackdown Tag Team championships against Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.

A bar is setup in the ring with a bartender. There's a bunch of wine and a terrible liquor selection. The toast to Jeff Hardy is next.

Jeff Hardy makes his way to the ring. Hardy calls out Sheamus so we can get this over with. Sheamus appears on the tron and he's at home in his own bar. Sheamus decided to give Hardy space. Sheamus says Hardy is always looking for a quick fix and he has a problem. Sheamus says Hardy's problem is not facing reality. Sheamus claims Hardy has been looking for a quick fix ever since Sheamus defeated him at Backlash. Sheamus says the answer to all of Hardy's problems is in one of the bottles. Sheamus proposes a toast and basically runs down Hardy. Sheamus tells Hardy to never change because he's a beautiful junkie. Hardy says Sheamus is the sickest person he's ever met. Hardy asks if this is funny to Sheamus. Sheamus claims he's trying to help and that's why he sent the bartender. The bartender offers Hardy a drink. Hardy grabs the drink and pours it on the bartender's head!! Then he smashes a bottle over the bartender's head!!! SWANTON BOMB ON THE BARTENDER!!! End Show.

Here's what's scheduled for next week:

  • WWE Universal champion Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt (from Money in the Bank)

  • Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. WWE Women's Tag Team champions Sasha Banks & Bayley (WWE Smackdown Women's champ) in a non-title match.
