Smackdown 6/26/20: Undertaker Tribute

Here's what's on tap for Smackdown:

  • In light of the Undertaker's retirement during the last episode of The Last Ride documentary, tonight there will be a tribute to the Undertaker.

  • Boneyard Match: Undertaker vs. AJ Styles from WrestleMania 36 will be shown for the first time ever on TV.

We open with highlights from the Undertaker's career. This video package was awesome as most are that WWE produces.

The roster is on the stage and everyone chants "Thank You Taker!!!" Lots of legends and superstars will be commenting on Undertaker's retirement throughout the night.

Michael Cole says we will start the night by taking you back to the 1990 Survivor Series where Undertaker made his debut. They show brief highlights of that match. Coming up next we will see the boneyard match between Undertaker and AJ Styles from WrestleMania 36 earlier this year in it's entirety.

John Cena and Roman Reigns give their thoughts on Undertaker's legacy.

Undertaker defeated AJ Styles in a boneyard match at WrestleMania 36 after putting him in the grave and covering him with dirt. I was skeptical going into it but this match far exceeded my expectations. As unfortunate as the coronavirus stuff was for WrestleMania, I think this particular match turned out being better in this environment than it would have been inside a ring in a stadium. This was a cinematic match done well. I highly recommend checking this out.

Edge, Christian, Bret Hart, Kane, and Ric Flair talk about Undertaker during commercial breaks in the middle of the boneyard match.

There will be a double contract signing on Raw this Monday between McIntyre/Ziggler and Asuka/Banks. We'll also see the latest in the Mysterio/Rollins feud. Extreme Rules now has a tagline of Extreme Rules: The Horror Show.

King Corbin is in the ring clapping about the Undertaker's last match. He calls it a boneyard match because he says Undertaker is an old bag of bones. Corbin runs down the Undertaker. Corbin calls Undertaker the founding member of the "Kiss My Ass" Club and says he was protected for 30 years. Corbin calls Undertaker selfish for holding superior talent down. Corbin is tired of legends thanking him. Corbin says Mark Calaway sucks! Jeff Hardy comes out to attack Corbin!

Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle talk about Undertaker.

Jeff Hardy is interviewed backstage. Hardy says the Mount Rushmore of WWE should be Undertaker's face four times. Hardy challenges Corbin to a match tonight.

The WWE Women's Tag Team champions Sasha Banks & Bayley (also WWE Smackdown Women's champ) join commentary as the winner of the following fatal four way match will face Bayley at Extreme Rules: The Horror Show in a WWE Smackdown Women's championship match.

Nikki Cross defeated Alexa Bliss, Dana Brooke, and Lacey Evans in a fatal four way to earn the right to face Bayley at Extreme Rules: The Horror Show for the WWE Smackdown Women's championship. Cross rolled up Evans for the win after Evans hit Brooke with the Woman's Right.

Bray Wyatt will on later and we have an eight man tag team match next.

Reminder that this Sunday, Mark Henry will be the guest on the Broken Skull Sessions.

Triple H talks about Undertaker's loyalty to WWE and Shawn Michaels talks about how much respect he has for him. Triple H says there will never be another like him.

WWE Smackdown Tag Team champions the New Day and Lucha House Party defeated Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, The Miz, and John Morrison in an eight man tag team match.

Gran Metalik pinned The Miz after an elbow drop from the top.

King Corbin is interviewed backstage. Corbin says he'll teach Jeff Hardy a lesson and make him rest in peace. WWE Universal champion Braun Strowman will be on next.

We see highlights of Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt's interaction last week.

Braun Strowman comes out to the ring and talks about the first time he met Bray Wyatt. That was the first time he ever sensed fear. Strowman tells a story of when a snake bit Bray in the face. He was bit over and over and that's when Strowman knew he was in the presence of evil because all Bray did was laugh. He realized Bray was the Devil and he was doing the Devil's work. A part of him still enjoys doing it and he is trying to lock that part of him away. Strowman can't go on living like this so he wants to go back to the swamp one more time. Strowman will either come out more evil than he's ever been or he will finish Bray off once and for all. Strowman challenges Bray to "go home" one more time. You hear Bray's laugh over the loud speaker and Strowman starts laughing himself.

Batista and Mick Foley talk about Undertaker. Batista says he had a great career because he got to work with Undertaker. Foley says Undertaker put him on the map.

Sheamus presents a toast to Jeff Hardy next week.

During the Jeff Hardy vs. King Corbin match, Corbin was mocking the Undertaker so the Smackdown locker room came to ringside to support Hardy.

Jeff Hardy defeated King Corbin with a Swanton Bomb. Corbin attacks Hardy after the match!! The New Day get in the ring to stop Corbin. Big Ending to Corbin. Hardy calls Strowman in the ring. Strowman power slams Corbin! They call Matt Riddle in the ring. Floating Bro to Corbin!! Everyone celebrates while Undertaker's picture is shown on the tron. End Show.
