Smackdown 2/26/2021: Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso w/ Fast Lane Implications; Belair Chooses WM Opponent!

Here's what's on tap for tonight's Smackdown:

We're in the ThunderDome and kicking the show off with THE HEAD OF THE TABLE!! WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns along with Jey Uso and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring. We see highlights from Elimination Chamber including Edge spearing Reigns. Heyman hands Reigns a mic. "You suck" chants from the crowd. Reigns says it's not a secret that Smackdown needs him just like Elimination Chamber needed it. Reigns answered the call and saved this place. That's what the Tribal Chief does. Reigns says he smashed Daniel Bryan in the most exciting ass whopping in the past year or decade. Reigns says anyone else in this role would want a party or celebration. However, Reigns operates at a higher level. It wasn't perfect though because of one man....EDGE! Reigns says Edge got one over on him. Reigns says then Edge has to make it official by pointing at the sign. Edge vs. Reigns at WrestleMania. Reigns says Edge doesn't want that or need it in his life. This is why Reigns is going to give Edge a chance to back out and go home to his family. Edge is a father and husband so Reigns doesn't want to hurt him. Reigns respects the come back. Reigns says a man like Edge doesn't stand a chance against a man like Reigns. HERE COMES DANIEL BRYAN!!! Bryan has a mic and says nearly perfect?! That's how we're describing Reigns title defense?!? Bryan is out to disagree. Bryan makes fun of Reigns defending immediately after the chamber. Bryan has heard rumors that what Reigns did cowardly. Bryan won't comment on that. Bryan would of thought the Head of the Table would defend in the main event; not in the second match of the night! Bryan has Reigns first match in WWE and he knows Reigns is good. Bryan would like to give Reigns a chance to prove how good he is. Bryan wants more shot so there are no more comparisons between the two. Bryan challenges Reigns to a title match at Fast Lane. Jey Uso grabs the mic and says Bryan goes to the end of the line. If Bryan wants a shot, he has to go through Uso first. Reigns asks Bryan if he really wants Reigns to hurt him again? USO BLIND SIDES BRYAN!! USO SENDS BRYAN OVER THE BARRICADE ON THE OUTSIDE.

Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville talk backstage about who Bianca Belair will choose. Edge interrupts and asks about Bryan challenging Reigns at Fast Lane. Edge says they need to talk.

Backstage, Jey Uso apologizes to Roman Reigns for what he did out there. Reigns says there's no need to apologize unless he doesn't get the job down.

Edge asks Pearce about Fast Lane. Edge thought there would be a tag match at Fast Lane. If Daniel Bryan beats Jey Uso tonight, he faces Reigns at Fast Lane.

Before their tag match, Otis and Chad Gable show highlights of them beating down Rey Mysterio.

Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio vs. Otis & Chad Gable

Otis and Rey start. Otis knocks down Rey right away and drops an elbow on him. Otis launches Rey across the ring. Otis with a shoulder to the ribs of Rye in the corner. Gable tries to calm Otis down so they don't get disqualified again. Gable tags in and military presses Rey and drops Rey rib first on Gable's knees. Gable prevent Rey from making a tag. Rey escapes with an enziguri and tags Dominik. Dominik takes the fight to Gable. DOMINIK WITH A TORNADO DDT FROM THE SECOND ROPE!! 1...2...NO!! Rey tags back in and hits a senton from the top on Gable. Rey knocks Otis off the apron. DOUBLE 619 TO GABLE!! REY WITH A TOP ROPE SPLASH!! 1...2...Otis breaks it up!! Otis pulls Gable to the corner and Otis tags in. Rey tries a spring board but Otis catches and slams him. OTIS WITH A SPLASH FROM THE SECOND ROPE TO WIN IT!! More or less a squash.

It's official: Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso tonight. If Bryan wins, he faces Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Fast Lane.

Up next they'll address Apollo Crew's attack on Big E last week. We see Apollo Crews in gorilla backstage.

Apollo Crews heads to the ring while we see footage of his attack on Big E last week. Crews drapes himself with a scarf and grabs a mic. Crews says lots of people have been wondering what's going on with him and why the sudden change? Crews says we don't really know anything about him. He's been nice, humble. respectful for far too long. Crews explains this is the real him. Crews is from Nigeria and a true African American. Crews talks about his family and what he represents. The colors of the scarf (white and green for the Nigerian flag) represent dominance and power. He talks about how Big E told him to go back to catering but Crews went back to roots. Crews claim he won't be disrespected again. Crews stars to bring up Shinsuke Nakamura which brings Nakamura out.

Apollo Crews vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Crews attacks Nakamura before the bell rings. Crews picks up the steps but the referee steps between Crews and Nakamura. The match hasn't officially begun and we go to a commercial.

Back from the break, the match is already underway with Crews hammering Nakamura in the corner. Nakamura is sent hard into the corner. Snap suplex by Crews and a pin but Nakamura kicks out. Chin lock by Crews. Nakamura elbows his way free. Crews with a German but Nakamura lands on his knees. Almost a bad landing there. Nakamura with kicks and strikes now. Nakamura with a kick to the back of the neck in the corner. Front face suplex by Nakamura drapes Crews over the top rope. Axe kick by Nakamura and another kick for a near fall. Crews with a counter and a German! Second German and a third! 1...2...NO!! Crews ducks a kick from Nakamura but not the second one. Knee to the back of Crews and then Nakamura with a sliding snap German!! Nakamura sets up for the Kinshasa but Crews rolls out of the ring. Nakamura follows but Crews sends him into the steps. Back in the ring, Crews goes for a military press but Nakamura locks in a sleeper. Crews sends Nakamura into the top turnbuckle. CREWS HITS NAKAMURA WITH AN ENZIGURI AND AN OLYMPIC SLAM TO WIN!! That's the best I've seen Apollo look in a long time. I don't like seeing Nakamura take the quick, clean loss though.

Roman Reigns is backstage talking with Paul Heyman. Heyman talks about Daniel Bryan getting a title match if he beats Jey Uso. Reigns wants to know if the tag match is scrapped then? Heyman says ONLY IF Bryan wins.

Tamina w/ Natalya vs. Liv Morgan w/ Ruby Riott

Tamina goes on the attack early. Liv with a head scissor that sends Tamina into the corner. Liv runs into a big boot to the face. Tamina beats down Liv in the corner before throwing her across the ring. Tamina squashes Liv in the corner and gets a near fall. Tamina with back elbow taking Liv down followed by a suplex for a near fall. Liv tries to fight back with right hands but Tamina slams her face first. Liv blocks a hip toss. Liv tries a back slide but Tamina over powers her. Enziguri by Liv. Liv drives Tamina into the corner and hits a series of right hands. Missile drop kick by Liv! 1...2...NO!! Liv charges the corner but Tamina side steps her. SAMOAN DROP BY TAMINA!! TAMINA FOLLOWS THAT WITH CATATONIC TO WIN! That was tough to watch and benefitted no one.

Bianca Belair is heading towards the ring. It's decision time after the break,

A vignette hypes The Miz vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship on next week's Raw. Also, Drew McIntyre will be back to address Elimination Chamber.

Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville are in the ring. They introduce Bianca Belair who is set to choose her WrestleMania opponent. "EST" chants from the crowd. Pearce says it's been about a month since she won the rumble. Belair corrects him with the exact time down to the minutes and seconds. Deville says that was just the beginning. Deville asks if it's going to be WWE Raw Women's Champion Asuka and we see a video package for Asuka. Deville then says or will it be WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Sasha Banks. A video package airs for her too. Belair says she knows everyone is waiting for her decision. Belair quotes her mom and is about to make her choice when REGINALD INTERRUPTS!! Reginald says Belair's mom is right and this choice will change her life. Reginald says Belair was smart to team with Banks last week to see how Banks wrestles. Reginald calls Belair special and we're in awe of Belair living her dream. Reginald says if Belair chooses Banks, her dream will dissolve into a nightmare. Reginald basically says Belair will be a loser if she chooses Banks. Belair gets pissed and HERE COMES BANKS!!! Banks rips the mic from Reginald. Banks gets in Reginald's face and says I told you to never speak for her. Banks tells Belair she's the standard and if Belair wants to be in the conversation, she needs to choose Banks. Banks says she doesn't think Belair is the "EST" because Banks is #1 making Belair #2. Belair says no. Belair plans to make Banks eat her words.....ON THE GRANDEST STAGE OF THEM ALL!! BELAIR POINTS TO THE WRESTLEMANIA SIGN AND OFFICIALLY CHOOSES BANKS!!

Commentary hypes Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso for later tonight.

King Corbin and Sami Zayn with camera crew are backstage getting ready for their tag match. Zayn asks Corbin about the conspiracies. Corbin wants to know why they're partners. Zayn asks for it and Zayn thinks they could become tag team champs. Zayn thinks they could be the new Can-Am Connection haha. Corbin agrees they could dominate the tag division but never tell him what to do. Corbin wants the camera guys out of his face!

The Street Profits vs. King Corbin & Sami Zayn

Sami and Ford start the match. They lock up and Ford backs Zayn to the corner. Clean break. Zayn with right hands and chops. Zayn sends Ford into the corner but Ford counters and arm drags Zayn. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode are watching backstage and mock the Street Profits with red solo cups. Corbin and Dawkins both tag in and lock up. Corbin with a shoulder tackle knocks down Dawkins. Leap frog by Dawkins and a drop kick to Corbin. Dawkins works an arm but Corbin escapes with a knee lift. Corbin charges and goes under the Corbin but he runs into the documentary crew. Dawkins sends Corbin out of the ring and tags Ford as we go to a break.

We're back with Corbin beating down Ford. Zayn tags back in and chokes Ford across the middle rope. Corbin tags back in as they isolate Ford in their corner. Corbin sends Ford into the corner but runs into a boot by Ford. Enziguri by Ford and Zayn tags in. Zayn tries to prevent a tag but Ford tags Dawkins! Dawkins is on fire! Dawkins with the back elbow in the corner and a near fall. Drop kick by Dawkins to Corbin. Zayn plants Dawkins with a DDT! 1...2...NO!! The documentary crew records Corbin and he shoves them down. Zayn asks Corbin what he's doing. FORD FLIPS OVER ZAYN ONTO CORBIN. Dawkins with a neck breaker to Zayn! FORD TAGS IN AND HITS ZAYN WITH FROM THE HEAVENS SPLASH TO WIN!! Good win for the Profits and Corbin/Zayn continue arguing after the match.

Kayla Braxton is backstage with Daniel Bryan. Braxton asks about Bryan playing WrestleMania spoiler. Bryan likes his chances. Bryan believes he has a better chance of beating Reigns than Edge does. Bryan says he's honest with Edge and he's not sure Edge can beat Reigns. Edge is here! Edge says if Bryan wins tonight and then beats Reigns....then who wins between Bryan and Edge? Bryan says he'll keep that answer to himself and we'll just have to see.

Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. We'll find out what he's got to say after commercial.

Seth Rollins wants us to know that his formal complaint got a huge response last week on social media. HERE COMES CESARO!! Rollins is backing off and tells Cesaro to take it easy. Rollins wants a chance to make things right. Rollins said he didn't call Cesaro a loser. It was taken out of context and blow out of proportion. Rollins wants to make it right and make it up to Cesaro. Rollins says who says Cesaro can't grab the brass ring and break the glass ceiling. Rollins talks up Cesaro and asks Cesaro why does he always come up short? What is it that Cesaro is missing? Rollins knows because he has it.....killer instinct. Rollins says he came back to lead the future and he wants to start with Cesaro because Rollins has grabbed the brass ring and shattered the glass ceiling. Rollins wants to give that to Cesaro and work side by side. Rollins says if Cesaro had listened two weeks, Cesaro would of won the chamber match and beaten Reigns. But no, Cesaro walked out on him. Cesaro can have a second chance. He just needs to embrace the vision!! Rollins says Cesaro is allowed to think it over for a couple weeks. CESARO TAKES DOWN ROLLINS!! ROLLINS SCREAMS TO PUT HIM DOWN BUT CESARO SWINGS HIM!!! ROLLINS SWINGS FOREVER RIGHT OUT OF JACKET!! Big uppercut by Cesaro!!

If Bryan wins, he'll face Roman Reigns at Fast Lane for the WWE Universal Championship

Uso goes on the attack right away with punches. Off the ropes, Uso takes down Bryan with a shoulder tackle. Back up and a hip toss by Bryan. Bryan works on the arm of Uso and hits an arm breaker. Bryan with strikes in the corner. Bryan picks up the pace and takes down Uso with a running clothesline. Bryan charges and hits a running kick in the corner. More kicks by Bryan in the corner. Bryan puts Uso on the top turnbuckle and brings him off with a rana!! 1...2...NO!! Bryan with a stomp to the left arm of Uso. Uso rolls out of the ring to create some distance. BRYAN GOES FOR A SUICIDE DIVE BUT EATS A SUPER KICK!! Uso lifts and drops Bryan knee first on the announce table and then Uso runs Bryan's knee into the ring post. Bryan is hurting as we go to a commercial.

We're back with Uso continuing to work on the knee of Bryan. Bryan tries to lock in the Yes Lock but Uso blocks and attacks the knee again. Bryan tries to fight back with strikes but RUNS INTO A SAMOAN DROP!! 1...2...NO!! Uso goes out to the top turnbuckle and MISSES A SPLASH!! Bryan with Yes Kicks with the bad leg!? That makes no sense. Uso comes off the ropes and Bryan lowers his head and eats a right. Bryan sends Uso to the outside. Bryan with a drop kick through the ropes. BRYAN WITH A RUNNING KNEE FROM THE APRON!! Back in the ring, Bryan goes up to the top and comes off but no one there. Bryan tweaks the knee again allowing Uso to take control again. Single leg crab by Uso! Uso pulls Bryan back to the center of the ring. Bryan almost rolls free but Uso hangs on and cranks on the knee. Bryan kicks Uso off with his good leg. Bryan with a super kick to the face of Uso!! 1..2...NO!! Bryan sets up and goes for the running knee but USO picks his knee with a chop block!! Super kick by Uso!! 1...2...NO!! Uso goes to the top rope. Bryan is up and racks Uso on the top. Bryan goes to the top with him. BRYAN WITH A BUTTERFLY SUPLEX OFF THE TOP!! Bryan goes for a submission but Uso gets to the ropes and rolls out of the ring. Bryan follows and tries to send Uso into the steps but USO COUNTERS AND SENDS USO INTO THE ROPES!! BOTH MEN BRAWL AND USO SENDS BRYAN INTO THE STEPS. BOTH MEN ARE COUNTED OUT!!

Post match, the brawl continues. BRYAN LOCKS USO IN THE YES LOCK!! ROMAN REIGNS IS HERE TO ATTACK BRYAN!! Bryan tries the Yes Lock on Reigns. Uso with a super kick to Bryan!! REIGNS SPEARS BRYAN!! REIGNS LOCKS BRYAN IN THE GUILLOTINE!! BRYAN IS OUT!! Reigns stands over Bryan to end the show.
