Raw 6/29/2020: Double Contract Signings



Here's what's scheduled for tonight:

  • Contract signings for Ziggler/McIntyre and Asuka/Banks for their Extreme Rules title matches.

  • WWE United States champion Apollo Crews vs. MVP in a non-title match.

  • The Viking Raiders vs. Andrade and Angel Garza w/ Zelina Vega

  • Will Seth Rollins continue his reign of terror?

  • Big Show and Ric Flair will appear while Randy Orton lies in wait.

  • 24/7 Championship Match: Akira Tozawa defends against R-Truth.

We kick off the show with mayhem!! Sasha Banks and Bayley are beating down Asuka in the middle of the ring!! Referees break them up. Samoa Joe is trying to moderate the contract signing but they keep brawling. Samoa Joe introduces Dolph Ziggler and then Ziggler introduces Drew McIntyre while insulting him. Joe gives Ziggler the floor. Ziggler basically runs down McIntyre and brings up his past failures. Ziggler says at Extreme Rules he'll keep getting back up no matter what because he always survives. Ziggler claims he'll end McIntyre's 19 year journey and destroy him. McIntyre signs and grabs a mic. McIntyre says it's official and tells Ziggler he always drops the ball when he gets close to the finish line. McIntyre says he'll slaughter him at Extreme Rules and McIntyre will allow Ziggler to pick the stipulation. Ziggler starts to talk bu Asuka interrupts him and signs her contract. Sasha Banks says she's not the same woman Asuka faced before and she'll be "Two Belt Banks" after Extreme Rules. Banks claims her and Bayley will take over the whole damn company and the women brawl. Ziggler tries to kick McIntyre but McIntyre blocks. Ziggler ducks a Claymore and escapes. Commentary wonders what stipulation Ziggler will pick.


Commentary talks about the WWE Raw Tag Team championship situation. Backstage, Angel Garza talks to the referee who will refereeing their match. Charly Caruso shows up and asks what Garza was telling the ref. Zelina Vega cuts her off. Their tag match against the Viking Raiders is next....or it was as Big Show interrupts and says he's pulling the rank card and he's going to the ring next for unfinished business with Randy Orton.


Later tonight, Seth Rollins asks for forgiveness.


This Friday on Smackdown, Sheamus will toast to Jeff Hardy and what will happen next between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt now that their Wyatt Swamp Fight is official for Extreme Rules?


After the chaos of the contract signing, there will be a champions vs. challengers mix tag team match tonight. (Drew McIntyre & Asuka vs. Dolph Ziggler & Sasha Banks)


Big Show is out and he calls out Randy Orton. Andrade and Angel Garza w/ Zelina Vega interrupt. Big Show is not in the mood to play around. Andrade laughs at the thought of Big Show being a legend. Andrade and Garza continue to insult Big Show and he again says he's not in the mood. Big Show has heard enough and challenges them to a fight. Andrade and Garza circle the ring as Zelina Vega says Big Show can say "Hi" to Edge and Christian in the retirement home. WOOOOO!!!!! RIC FLAIR IS HERE!!!!! Flair has words for Big Show. Flair says only Randy Orton will take out Big Show whenever he feels like doing it. Flair brings up Big Show's Netflix show. Flair says Orton will be a bigger Legend Killer after taking out Big Show but until then....he tells Zelina that Andrade and Garza can attack Big Show. Viking Raiders are here!!! Big brawl! We're back from a commercial break and the Viking Raiders vs. Andrade and Angel Garza is already started with Zelina Vega on commentary....


Andrade and Angel Garza defeated the Viking Raiders when Garza pinned Erik after the Wing Clipper. Midway through the match, Andrade walked out after Garza wouldn't tag him but Zelina convinced Andrade to come back.


Highlights of Lana helping Natalya defeat Liv Morgan last week. Also the clip of Liv Morgan being confronted by Ruby Riott. The IIconics walk up to Ruby backstage and say she has no friends and call Ruby a loser. Ruby asks who blew their tag title opportunity last week. Ruby challenges one of them to a match tonight. They accept and Ruby says "That sounds iconic!!"


Andrade and Angel Garza argue backstage when Ric Flair interrupts. He says they have never looked better. Flair asks to talk to Zelina and they walk off.


R-Truth defeated Akira Tozawa with a roll up to become a 37 time 24/7 champion!!! Afterward, one of the ninjas tries to win the title with a roll up but R-Truth escapes through the crowd!!


Highlights of MVP talking to WWE United States champion Apollo Crews last week in the MVP Lounge. Bobby Lashley and MVP talk backstage and Lashley doesn't want MVP to offer Crews to join them again. MVP vs. Crews is coming up. They walk off and walk by Seth Rollins and Murphy. Rollins says he must deliver a message and walks towards the ring.


Big Show will face Andrade and Angel Garza later in a 2-on-1 handicap match.


Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring carrying Rey Mysterio's mask accompanied by Murphy. We see highlights of the Rollins/Mysterio saga. Rollins talks about Mysterio's heartwarming return and brings up Rey saying nothing will stop his return. Rollins says "Rey hasn't been seeing things to clearly lately". Rollins says he has given Rey chances but Rey is defiant. Rollins begs Rey for forgiveness. Not for what he did but for what he will do in the future. Rollins that every time Rey steps foot in the ring, Rollins will be forced to tear him down piece by piece. Rey and Dominick interrupt on the tron!! Rey asks Dominic for forgiveness for what he is going to have to do to Rollins. Rey says "Eye for an eye". Dominick forgives Rey but will never forgive Rollins. Rollins says be careful what you wish for and says he'll end Dominick's career before it begins. Here comes Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo! Rollins was expecting them and asks Carrillo why he stands up for Rey when Rey is a coward. Carrillo calls Rollins the coward. Black knows a thing or two about evil and says he's looking at it. Rollins says they haven't seen anything yet and it ends now. We have a tag match now!


Seth Rollins and Murphy defeated Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo. Rollins got the pin on Carrillo after the stomp. After the match, Rollins and Murphy attack Black. Then they target Carrillo but he fights back until Murphy nails Carrillo with the steps! Rollins gets a crazy look in his eye as he looks at Rey's mask. Rollins puts Rey's mask on Carrillo!!! Murphy drags Carrillo the steps and they try to run Carrillo's eye in the steps but Black saves him. Black fights off Murphy and ROLLINS STOMPS CARRILLO INTO THE STEPS!!! Rollins and Murphy run off.


Drew McIntyre and Asuka talk strategy and they're interviewed. Drew says he let Dolph pick the stipulation so there's no excuses when Dolph loses. McIntyre says Sasha isn't ready for Asuka and Asuka says Dolph isn't ready for Drew.


Undertaker tribute next!


They show highlights of the Undertaker tribute from Smackdown with all the legends talking about him. The video package tribute they show is really well done like most that they do!


Ruby Riott is warming up backstage and she's confronted by Lana. Ruby isn't buying what she's saying and tells her to leave her alone. Lana keeps running her mouth and talks about Natalya. Ruby ignored the whole thing. Ruby's match is next.


Commentary talks about Charlotte Flair's injury at the hands of Nia Jax last week. Charlotte suffered a fractured left clavicle.


Peyton Royce w/ Billie Kay defeated Ruby Riott. Royce got the pin after hitting a spinning brain buster.


Big Show is stretching backstage when Charly Caruso interviews him. She asks if he's worried about Ric Flair or Randy Orton. Big Show says Flair is "The dirtiest player in the game" which makes Orton "The most dangerous apex predator in the game". Big Show says he feels sorry for Andrade and Angel Garza because they're getting an angry giant tonight.


Commentary recaps the contract signings from earlier.


The handicap match starts and Andrade argues with Angel Garza about who's going to start. It ends up being Garza. Big Show defeated them after pinning Andrade following a choke slam. Andrade and Garza argued throughout the whole match to the point that Garza walked out on Andrade. Big Show picked up Andrade after the match and KO punched him!


Backstage, Ricochet and Cedric Alexander talk to Apollo Crews when R-Truth comes in. Truth says he escaped Tozawa and the ninjas. Truth calls Cedric "Cedric the Entertainer" and Ricochet Richard O'Shea. Ricochet tries to correct Truth but Apollo says it just go with it.


Brief highlights of the Broken Skull Sessions featuring Mark Henry.


MVP and Bobby Lashley are out now. MVP talks about Apollo disrespected him and sure enough Apollo interrupts. Crews says MVP only cares about himself. MVP says Crews may not want him as his manager but he really doesn't want him as his enemy.


MVP defeated WWE United States champion Apollo Crews in a non-title match using a fisherman suplex after a distraction from Bobby Lashley. After the match, Apollo attacks MVP but Lashley locks the full nelson on Crews! Ricochet and Cedric Alexander try to pull Lashley off Crews. Ricochet hits a drop kick off the top rope to force the break.


Back from a commercial break and we have a match between Lashley and Ricochet.


Bobby Lashley defeated Ricochet with the full nelson. After the match, Lashley puts the full nelson on Cedric Alexander.


Dolph Ziggler talks with Sasha Banks and Bayley. Ziggler wants them to follow his lead and they laugh. Sasha and Bayley tell Dolph not to screw it up for them.


Dolph Ziggler and WWE Women's Tag Team champion Sasha Banks defeated WWE champion Drew McIntyre and WWE Raw Women's champion Asuka in a mixed tag team match when Sasha rolled through the Asuka Lock and stacked up Asuka for the pin. Sasha celebrates. End Show.
