Raw 6/22/2020: Championship Monday; Returns by Edge and Rey Mysterio!

We got a huge Raw planned. This is what's on tap:

• WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match: The IIconics vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley (champs)

• 24/7 Championship Match: Akira Tozawa vs. R-Truth (champ)

• WWE Raw Women's Championship Match: Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka (champ)

• Rey Mysterio returns live to confront Seth Rollins

• Ric Flair will be live to crown Randy Orton as the "greatest wrestler ever".

• Edge will return to address his future.

We kick off the show with WWE champion Drew McIntyre. He talks about looking to the future and he's cut off by SMACKDOWN'S DOLPH ZIGGLER!! Ziggler says AJ Styles was traded to Smackdown and in return, Raw got Ziggler and ROBERT ROODE! Ziggler claims he picked up McIntyre when McIntyre was at his lowest and they went on to be dominant tag team champs. Now, McIntyre is a dominant WWE champion because of Ziggler. Ziggler knows he needs a challenger for Extreme Rules and Ziggler wants what he is owed which is a WWE championship match. McIntyre says Ziggler has been losing a lot since McIntyre hasn't been watching his back. McIntyre says no one owes Ziggler anything. McIntyre accepts the match and it's official for Extreme Rules!!!

Nia Jax makes her way to the ring and grabs a chair and sits!

Advertisement for the triple threat match for the NXT North American championship this Wednesday.

Nia Jax said it must be Monday because Charlotte Flair is getting a championship match. She then claims she was cheated at Backlash. Here comes R-Truth!! Truth says Nia must be confused!! Truth is here because he has to defend his championship! Truth wants to know if Nia is the real Akira Tozawa. Tozawa is standing behind commentary and Truth claims there a two Tozawas!! Truth takes off running and he's chased by Tozawa and the ninjas!! Now here's Charlotte Flair!!! Charlotte and Nia trade verbal shots back and forth. Nia says Charlotte goes for easy targets and avoids her. Charlotte has had enough and attacks Nia!! Referees try to separate them but they keep fighting. They are eventually separated.

Highlights of the rivalry between the Street Profits and the Viking Raiders. Profits are backstage and are interrupted by the Viking Raiders. Profits so they can be friends but when the bell rings, they'll do whatever it takes to keep the gold. Raiders say they're getting their gold. That match is next. They all walk away and then Zelina Vega shows up and she's thinking something...

The Street Profits defeated the Viking Raiders to retain the WWE Raw Tag Team championships. Profits won when Dawkins delivered the Cash Out to Ivar and Ford followed up with a frog splash. All four men embraced after the match.

After the match, Andrade and Angel Garza attack the Street Profits!!! The Viking Raiders come back to make the save.

Backstage, Seth Rollins is with Austin Theory and Murphy. He says tonight he has a message for Rey Mysterio.

Highlights of Dominick showing up on Raw last week and attacking Rollins.

Rollins is backstage and says he didn't choose to be the Monday Night Messiah. He accepted his role for the greater good while Rey has been defiant. Rollins says Rey allowed Dominick to get involved and whatever happens to Rey or Dominick is on Rey. The greater good is coming for us all and there's nothing Rey can do about it. Rollins says legends may never die, but they can sure outlive their welcome.

Charly Caruso interviews Charlotte and asks if she is alright to compete. Flair says she is just find to hold up the Raw Women's championship. Charlotte leaves. Charly spots Andrade and Garza. Garza tells her that you have to take what you want. Zelina cuts Garza off. Zelina says they will be taking a common prize and Andrade says they want the Raw tag titles. Nia is shown watching the match backstage. WWE United States champion Apollo Crews will be the guest on MVP's VIP Lounge tonight.

Asuka defeated Charlotte Flair to retain the WWE Raw Women's championship!! Asuka made Charlotte tap with the Asuka Lock!!

Charly interviews Nia Jax. Charly asks her if she thinks her attack on Charlotte is the reason Charlotte lost. Nia says it would be a shame if someone kicked the queen while she was down.

Edge is up next!!!

Highlights of the saga between Orton/Edge/Christian.

Edge is sitting in a ring and he's not convinced Orton proved he's the better wrestler. Edge says he saw panic is Orton's eyes and it's convenient he hit an "accidental" low blow. He tells Orton to go ahead and parade and celebrate. Edge says it won't happen again. Edge says not being able to pick up his daughters on Father's Day and after what Orton did to Christian, he put the PG superstar to bed. Edge is thankful for that. Orton woke up the side of Edge that will do whatever it takes to get to the top and he doesn't care what he has to do. Edge says Orton will wish "Cowboy" Bob was firing blanks the night Orton was conceived. Edge says he will tear Orton's life apart and Orton has no idea what he has done. Orton woke up the evil. Orton woke up the "Rated R Superstar", Edge says "Get some sleep while you can, Randy".

Charly interviews Randy Orton backstage. Orton says when a snake is backed into a corner, it'll strike. He says Edge and Christian tried to have their come backs at his expense. He struck wildly but will do what he has to do to defend his family. Orton says they'll recover and live happy lives as long as their far, far away from him.

Charly interviews Charlotte. Charlotte gives Asuka credit for targeting her arm that Nia injured. Nia Jax attacks Charlotte from behind and beats her down and works on her injured arm.

R-Truth is about to face Akira Tozawa when Bobby Lashley and MVP show up. Lashley destroys all the ninjas!! Lashley then destroys out Truth! Tozawa was hiding the whole time!! HE PINS TRUTH!! TOZAWA IS THE NEW CHAMP!!

Sara Schreiber tries to get an update on Charlotte. Natalya interrupts and says she needs to be the locker room leader with Becky Lynch gone and Charlotte out. Natalya has something important to say but the interview is out of time. Sara should of been interviewing her instead of waiting for Charlotte. Natalya faces Liv Morgan next and then she'll make her announcement.

Lana accompanied Natalya to the ring! Lana distracted Liv and that allowed Natalya to lock in the Sharpshooter forcing Liv to tap out! It appears Natalya has turned heel.

Charly interviews Big Show. She asks him about fighting ninjas along side the tag team champs. He says he has seen it all now and he couldn't pass up punching a ninja. He plugs his show on Netflix. Big Show says he's not all fun and games. He'll be heading to the ring as a heartless, angry giant.

Commentary says McIntyre vs. Ziggler is official for Extreme Rules. Odd since McIntyre already accepted earlier. Anyways, it's official.

Ric Flair is here now. First, he says when Charlotte is healthy again, she'll be back to take Nia out. Now, he's been telling people forever that Orton is the best in the business. In 24 hours time, he punted Edge and Christian back into retirement. He introduces Orton. Flair calls Orton the most dominant performer in the WWE. Flair says he's the best performer in the history of WWE and Flair is honored to be there with him. Orton says nostalgia is great but sometimes it can be confused. It was nostalgia when Flair showed last week he was still the dirtiest player in the game. It was nostalgia with Christian last week and with Edge at Backlash. Orton being the Legend Killer isn't nostalgia. It's further cementing his legacy. He is getting pleasure being the Legend Killer. HERE COMES THE BIG SHOW!! He's had enough!! Big Show says Orton will pay what he did to Edge and Christian. He calls Orton a narcissistic parasite. Show says Orton is now latched onto Flair because Orton has no motivation. Show says he knows Edge isn't done and he will cut pay back. Show says Edge will have to get pay back along with him because he wants to tear Orton apart. Orton calls Show a future hall of famer and says some may even call him a legend. Orton says it would be tragic if Show suffered the same fate as Edge and Christian. Show challenges Orton to go now but Orton bails. Orton says Show knows what Orton is capable of so it's up to Show what happens next.

WWE Smackdown Women's champion Bayley and Sasha Banks successfully defended their WWE Women's Tag Team championships against the IIconics. Banks made Peyton Royce tap out to the Bank Statement!

Post match, Banks and Bayley grab mics. Bayley says they win again. Banks says she sees Bayley with two titles and can't help but be a little jealous. BANKS TELLS BAYLEY SHE WANTS A TITLE MATCH!! BAYLEY LOOKS A LITTLE NERVOUS!! BANKS THEN SAYS FOR EXTREME RULES, SHE IS OFFICIALLY CHALLENGING ASUKA FOR THE RAW WOMEN"S CHAMPIONSHIP!! ASUKA IS OUT NOW!! Asuka says Banks is not the boss of her and ASUKA ACCEPTS!! BANKS AND BAYLEY ATTACK ASUKA!! BANKS LOCKS ASUKA IN THE BANK STATEMENT!!

Bobby Lashley and MVP are interviewed backstage. Lashley is still pissed off and says he should be WWE champion right now. MVP talks about Apollo Crews. Crews has accepted another match with Shelton Benjamin tonight. MVP says Crews has a lot to learn and hopefully he makes the right decision tonight.

Smackdown preview includes how will Braun Strowman respond to Bray Wyatt and Sheamus will toast to Jeff Hardy.

Ruby Riott walks up to Liv Morgan backstage and wants to talk. Liv says not tonight with the way her night is going and walks off.

MVP is here with the VIP Lounge. Apollo Crews makes his way out as his guest. MVP says he gained a lot of respect for Crews when Crews defeated him in the Money in the Bank qualifying match. Then Crews went and got hurt. MVP offers Crews to let him manage him. Crews declines. MVP says if he wants to stay United States champion, he can't do it without MVP. MVP says he had a historic run as United States champ and whether Crews likes it or not, the title is coming home where it belongs. Here comes Shelton Benjamin for a match with Crews. MVP distracts Crews and Benjamin attacks!!!

WWE United States champion Apollo Crews defeated Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match with a sit out power bomb.

After the match, MVP distracts Crews and Lashley attacks Crews!! Lashley leaves Crews laying after applying the full nelson.

Rey Mysterio and Dominick are shown backstage. They head to the ring next!

Rey talks how terrified he was when he couldn't get a hold of Dominick last week. When Rey found out Dominick was coming to Raw, he was nervous but Dominick was able to overcome a 3-on-1 situation. Rey is proud but also upset at the risk he took. Rey is pissed about what Seth Rollins did to him but he accepts it. He knows Dominick is bigger than him but Rey is still his old man and Dominick will always be his child. Now it's Rey's turn to fight for Dominick. Rey says he needs revenge. Dominick understands but he isn't going anywhere. Dominick says this family wants a fight. Here comes Rollins. Rollins says he doesn't know what to do because they put him in a tough spot. He doesn't know who to go down and destroy. He says he doesn't make the decisions as it's faith and destiny. Rollins heads to the ring and drops to his knees. Here comes Murphy and Austin Theory but Aleister Black and Humberto Carrillo attack from behind!! They take out Murphy and Theory leaving Rollins all alone. 619 on Rollins!! It's 4-on-1!! They drag Rollins to the steps but Murphy and Theory make the save!! Murphy and Theory hold Rey while Rollins tries to push Dominick's eye into the steps but Black and Carrillo run them off with chairs!! End show.
