Our 3 Cents - Money in the Bank 2022

Welcome to Money in the Bank! In recent years, WWE has tried to make this event as big as the "Big 4". They even originally had it booked for Allegiant Stadium. Ticket sales didn't do so hot so they moved it to MGM. We got four championship matches and of course the two money in the bank ladder matches. Without further to do......

Lonnie: 15-4 (79%)

John: 14-5 (74%)

Jesse: 11-8 (58%)

Let's take a look at the card:

WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship Match

The Usos (champs) vs. The Street Profits

Jesse: I wish WWE cared more about tag teams. On paper this should be a great match, but we have seen it over and over. It’s time for some fresh blood in the tag division instead of having the same matches over and over again. I think the Profits win this.

W: The Street Profits

Lonnie: You could easily argue that these two teams are the two best in WWE right now. With only six matches on the card and me expecting the women’s matches to not be long, I expect this match to get plenty of time. I think this match may steal the show as the athleticism of these four guys is off the charts. In the end though, I still can’t pick against the Bloodline. I don’t see them losing their gold outside of a major event like Summerslam or WrestleMania.

W: The Usos

John: I really like both teams but I feel I should just copy and paste what I've said about the Usos/Bloodline over the last year. I can't pick against the Usos since the Bloodline has been so dominant. I'd welcome a title change here but I can't predict it. Although the outcome may not be in question, I expect these four to deliver a great match.

W: The Usos

WWE United States Championship Match

Theory (champ) vs. Bobby Lashley

Jesse: You know, I really enjoy Theory and he has been great as champ. Hopefully this match is a stepping stone towards a Cena match at summerslam. Theory wins a better than anticipated match.

W: Theory

Lonnie: Clearly WWE sees Theory as the future and pairing him with Lashley was a great decision. Lashley is a main event talent and should bring out the best in Theory. I see Theory winning here after Lashley last got the upper hand in the gauntlet match. Whether the Theory victory leads to a Summerslam rematch with Lashley or something bigger with someone like Cena is the real question here.

W: Theory

John: WWE loves them some Theory! This is a nice feud for him to build him up more. It may just be me but I feel Lashley may be above the US Championship at this point in his career. I don't think another run with it would do anything for him but a win for Theory would be awesome for him. I feel Lashley would be in the WWE Championship picture had they not unified the titles. Theory should get the win here via shenanigans in order to keep Lashley strong.

W: Theory

WWE Raw Women's Championship Match

Bianca Belair (champ) vs. Carmella

Jesse: Blah is how I feel about this match. Bianca isn’t a great champ and Carmella is just a fill in since Rhea got hurt, which means there’s no chance in hell she is winning.

W: Bianca Belair

Lonnie: When Rhea went out with an injury WWE clearly had two choices. 1. Pull someone from the MITB match and give them a title match. 2. Use someone not in the MITB match so that those plans would be unchanged. They went with option 2, and therefore we have a match with Carmella who has a 0% chance of winning. This should be a squash.

W: Bianca Belair

John: It's unfortunate that Rhea Ripley can't go in this match because I was really looking forward to her facing Belair one-on-one. I think they could of gave us something special. However, here we are and Carmella gets the opportunity instead. I don't believe for a second that Carmella has a chance to win this. Belair should win no problem. Hopefully Carmella has a good showing but no way she leaves Vegas with the gold.

W: Bianca Belair

WWE Smackdown Women's Championship Match

Ronda Rousey (champ) vs. Natalya

Jesse: The video Natalya made for Ronda is probably going to be better than this match. Sadly it will probably be a botch fest with Ronda coming out on top.

W: Ronda Rousey

Lonnie: We all know that Ronda is winning here. I’m just disappointed that with Sasha gone they went with Natalya instead of Raquel or Shayna. This should be a convincing victory before Ronda moves on to one of the two ladies I mentioned.

W: Ronda Rousey

John: This feud has been awful. Their back-and-forth promos are cringeworthy. There's absolutely no way in hell that Natalya wins here and the shorter this is, the better it will be. Can Bayley return now?

W: Ronda Rousey

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Liv Morgan vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Lacey Evans vs. Asuka vs. Shotzi

Jesse: I really wish Doudrop was going to be in this instead of Becky so that way we know fresh blood would win the match. Liv winning would be a great stepping stone to making her a star, but we know WWE isn’t that wise in the creative department. Becky is going to win this then fail the cash in to continue her “downward spiral”.

W: Becky Lynch

Lonnie: I think the best options here are Alexa, Liv, or Raquel. Lacey and Shotzi aren’t ready to be champion, Asuka has already won MITB, and Becky can basically get a title shot whenever she wants so she doesn’t need it. So do they use this match to reestablish Alexa as a championship level star, or go with someone new? I think it is now or never for Liv Morgan. It feels like she has been so close to breaking through for literally years and it just hasn’t happened. I may regret the pick, but I’m going with my heart and saying it finally be her time.

W: Liv Morgan

John: With all due respect, WWE went with weaker challengers in the championship matches in order to load up this match. I think it's a smart move because I couldn't see Belair or Rousey losing anyways. With that said, I don't think Becky or Asuka need it as they're always credible challengers at any time. Although, I wouldn't be shocked to see Becky win it. Bliss has won it before and I don't think she's positioned well to win it this year. I personally believe Shotzi has no chance and Lacey's chances aren't much better than that. That brings is to Raquel and Liv. I'd love to see either of these two get the win as it would launch both of them to that next level. Since Raquel is still relatively new to the main roster, I'm going with Liv to get the win and I think the crowd would be for it. Not to sounds harsh but it could be now or never for her. Here's to hoping she pulls it off.

W: Liv Morgan

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Riddle vs. Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Omos vs. Sheamus vs. Sami Zayn vs. TBD

Jesse: At the time of me writing this there is still one spot open, and I have more of a right to fill that one spot than Omos does to be in this match. I’m fine with everyone else, and there’s enough people that we can get some cool spots and hopefully a great finish. Seth is going to win and he deserves to after his amazing year so far for his character. I hope that he absolutely torments Roman and then cashes in at summerslam for the heist of the century part 2. Seth then will hold the title for Cody to come take it off him when he returns.

W: Seth Rollins

Lonnie: This has to be Riddle or Rollins. I think Riddle could make sense because he already took Roman to the limit in a fair match. Therefore with a cash in, you could see him winning the championship. However, I think we are going to see Seth Rollins win here. I think we will see another Heist of the Century as he wins the championship at Summerslam after Roman/Brock are laid out following their last man standing match. Seth can then keep the championship until next year when Cody Rhodes wins the Rumble and challenges him.

W: Seth Rollins

John: This is a pretty stacked lineup for the men if you ignore Omos. No disrespect but he shouldn't be in this match. I can't see Sheamus winning and McIntyre doesn't need it because it sounds like he's getting a championship match at Clash at the Castle no matter what. Without knowing the final participant, that leaves Riddle, Rollins, and Zayn. I would absolutely love to see Zayn get the win and I think it would be a huge boost for him. He would do amazing things with the briefcase. I just don't have faith in WWE to pull the trigger on him. I think the safe bet is Rollins and he could potentially cash in at SummerSlam to pull of "The Heist of the Century Part 2" when he crashes Reigns vs. Lesnar again.

W: Seth Rollins
