Our 3 Cents - Hell in a Cell 2021

Welcome to our second year of Our 3 Cents where myself, Jesse, and Lonnie give you our predictions on what's going to go down. Hell in a Cell comes early this year! It's odd for this event to be in June but we're here nonetheless. Without further to do....

John: 11-0 (100%)

Lonnie: 9-2 (82%)

Jesse: 9-2 (82%)

Let's take a look at the card:

Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

Jesse: Well between this match and Seth vs. Cesaro, there will be 2 good matches for the night. KO and Sami have been having fun with this feud and it shows with the chemistry they have. I wish there was a title on the line, but obviously with the conspiracy WWE has against Sami that wasn’t going to happen. KO wins, but hopefully this continues a little longer.

W: Kevin Owens

Lonnie: Do these two have good matches? Yes. Do we need to see them fight again? No. This match has been done so many times and they should keep them away from each other for a year or two as this rivalry is stale. With these two fighting each other, Big E not fighting a fired Aleister Black, and Crews and the Commander continually winning every week I’m not really sure what they are trying to do with the Intercontinental championship picture. Owens lost clean to Crews a few weeks ago so I would guess Zayn gets the next chance.

W: Sami Zayn

John: First off, can we get a better picture of Sami Zayn for the above photo? It's just not a good look. These two have fought each other a zillion times it feels like. Which could be tiresome at this point but they always seem to have good to great matches. I feel as though they are both "stuck" with their booking. Zayn has been doing the conspiracy stuff for a while with no real pay off yet. Owens has been stuck in the mid card ever since losing to Reigns at the beginning of the year. If the winner is to face Apollo Crews down the line for the Intercontinental Championship, I'm going with Kevin Owens to get the win. Even though he lost his last title shot "clean", he did get the hell beat out of him by Commander Azeez before the match. I'm not sure how well Crews vs. Zayn would work with the heel/heel dynamic. It's not impossible but is hard to do.

W: Kevin Owens

Alexa Bliss vs. Shayna Baszler

Jesse: Let me start by saying Alexa is one of my favorite women on the roster, but whatever this mess that is going on with the division on Raw is disappointing. When Alexa first went all Harley Quinn I really enjoyed the storyline, but without the Fiend it’s not as entertaining. I can see Reginald getting involved, but Alexa still comes out with the win.

W: Alexa Bliss

Lonnie: It is very refreshing to see two of the better women on the roster get a nice storyline. Bliss has really found her own with her current character and it is nice to see the rehabilitation they are doing with Shayna after she was made to look awful the last few months. You could say Alexa needs a win because she has barely competed in a while, but Shayna needs a win if you want to move her to the title picture. For two reasons I think Shayna will win. First, I think they need a fresh face in the title scene and she may be it. Even if she doesn’t move onto a championship match I think a win here before fighting Nia or someone else soon would help. Second, with the return of fans I think Alexa’s character has mostly run its course. With no fans they can set up and do the cool stunts/effects in the ring, but with fans watching the “magic” type stuff will be harder to pull off. So that being said, I think Shayna putting an end to Alexa and Lily would be for the best.

W: Shayna Baszler

John: When it comes to the Alexa Bliss and Lily stuff, you either love it or you hate it. Bliss has done a pretty good job in my opinion and has showed her range as far as developing her character. Has it run it's course? Sure, that could be argued. However, I find it hard to believe that this carnation of Bliss will come to an end before The Fiend comes back. Since we haven't seen The Fiend yet, I believe this is going to continue. With that said, I think Bliss wins this one pretty easily.

W: Alexa Bliss

Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins

Jesse: The one match that should have been in a cell isn’t, which makes this PPV gimmick useless. Here is my plug for bringing back King of the Ring, because that would be for the best and more useful than this PPV and the red cell. This match will be a banger, but I can see Seth winning and moving onto Roman at SummerSlam.

W: Seth Rollins

Lonnie: Can we all agree that Seth Rollins is amazing? From the in ring work to the promos and character development the man has it all!!! We can also agree that Seth/Cesaro has been good for both men. Letting Cesaro get a WrestleMania moment and then a very good match with Roman has definitely elevated his career at no cost to Seth. Seth has still been able to shine throughout their feud as well. I do think the time has come though for Seth to get a clean victory over Cesaro. Whether it is fighting Roman or someone else, I feel that Seth should get a good, clean victory here so that he can move on to a major SummerSlam match.

W: Seth Rollins

John: Seth Rollins has done his best to make Cesaro look like a million bucks and has done a great job between the build and WrestleMania match. Cesaro went on to have a banger against Reigns last month. This match needs to wrap up the feud for both men so they can move on. As much as I'd like Cesaro to win again, I don't see him challenging Reigns again in the near future. He could be a viable option in Money in the Bank though. Rollins picking up the win is probably the better option long term.

W: Seth Rollins

WWE Raw Women's Championship Match

Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley (champ)

Jesse: Blah…..that’s all I can say about this match. Rhea has plateaued as champ, and having her face Charlotte doesn’t help. I can see a DQ finish with Charlotte winning this one, and then Charlotte will complain and talk about it until she gets a rematch at some point.

W: Charlotte Flair

Lonnie: We all know Charlotte is on the march to being a 17 time champion eventually, so will this be one more reign on that march. It has only been a few months but I am already tired of the Rhea/Charlotte/Asuka continual matches. I realize Smackdown is short on women, but Raw has those three, Nikki, Nia, Shayna, Natalya, Tamina, Alexa, and others. With that many women there is no reason to have the same title matches all the time. I feel the shine hasn’t worn off the Rhea championship run quite yet and see her getting a big win here. That will allow her to then beat Nikki in the coming weeks and hopefully set up a match with someone like Shayna for Summerslam. I just can’t pick Charlotte as I hate her as champion. She has a bunch of title reigns but her total days as champ is pathetic as she usually doesn’t keep the championship very long.

W: Rhea Ripley

John: Well well well....we got Charlotte in another championship match. I'm sure I'm about as shocked as all of you reading this. I read something interesting the other day. WWE superstars are doing Cameos before Hell in a Cell. Most of them are pricey. Shawn Michaels is going for $750, Ripley for $350, and Charlotte for $500. For the sake of my point, I won't list of the other superstars. Shawn Michaels only has one opening as of me writing this. Ripely is sold out and Charlotte has sold NONE! To me, that tells me everyone is tired of her and needs a break. It's almost go away heat to me. Ripley has been doing a fine job as champion with what she's been able to work with. Charlotte should put Ripley over and allow Ripley to get her "win back" for doing the honors to Charlotte last year at Mania.

W: Rhea Ripley

Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship

Bayley vs. Bianca Belair (champ)

Jesse: After the last few weeks of these 2 going back and forth laughing at each other, I can actually see this match being good. Bayley will be able to carry 70% of the match and Bianca’s athleticism will carry the rest. I see Bianca winning and usually a cell match should end a feud, but this one will continue into Money in the Bank.

W: Bianca Belair

Lonnie: This has the potential to be the match of the night. Bayley has proven herself in Hell in a Cell and there is no doubt that Bianca can deliver as well. To me the women’s cell matches tend to be more creative in their spots than the men’s cells so I am interested to see what they will do. In the end though Belair is walking out as champion. Bayley doesn’t need the championship, a clean Belair win would be good for her, and we need Sasha to come back so that we can get a WrestleMania rematch at Summerslam.

W: Bianca Belair

John: I like both of these ladies but I don't care for this feud. I think it's because they've done a lot of nothing. I mean the feud started over Bayley laughing at Belair and now we have Belair laughing at Bayley. I like the idea of these two feuding but I haven't been a fan of the presentation. Bayley should pull out the stops and make Belair look great but I don't see Bayley leaving with the gold. Belair needs a good defense. I don't think she's had a great match since Mania. Belair should win here and prepare for a returning Sasha Banks.

W: Bianca Belair

Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship

If McIntyre loses, he can't challenge Lashley again

Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley (champ)

Jesse: Ugh another title match with Drew in it. I have been going back and forth with this one, because on one hand Bobby hasn’t been able to blossom as champ with Drew chasing him, but WWE seems to love Drew and may want him as champ heading into the summer. Against my better judgement I am going to go with Bobby winning this one which will hopefully lead to a Bobby/Brock showdown at SummerSlam.

W: Bobby Lashley

Lonnie: I really feel that this match is a toss up. On the one hand I feel that Lashley has been good as champ and should continue his reign. Drew has already had several shots at the championship and hasn’t won it yet. Lashley winning here would allow him to move onto someone new for SummerSlam. On the other hand, I don’t know who would challenge Lashley if Drew loses as I don’t have faith in Raw’s creative team. While at first I didn’t think it made any sense to have Drew win here, I then started to consider that they may want him to be the champion for the return of fans. The use of Kofi to set up this rematch was nice to see him shine again, but I do hope this feud ends here. I am torn here and when it is a toss up I go with the champ to retain.

W: Bobby Lashley

John: This is the last chance for McIntyre and he's either been champion or chasing the championship for over a year now. Lashley has done a good job as champion but I wouldn't call it great. Sure, Lashley is a beast in the ring but at times I feel MVP shines more than Lashley. The only reason I can see McIntyre winning is to reward him for carrying the company during the pandemic thus allowing him to be champion for the return of live fans. I don't think that's the smart way to go though. Lashley should go over here in a brutal match to establish his dominance. McIntyre can try his hand at Money in the Bank over the next month as a man desperate for another way back to the title. As for Lashley, Kofi Kingston should probably be his next challenger as we head towards SummerSlam.

W: Bobby Lashley
