Our 3 Cents - Fast Lane 2021

Welcome back to another edition of Our 3 Cents where myself, Jesse, and Lonnie give you our predictions on what's going to go down. This is the last stop on the Road to WrestleMania! Without further to do......

John: 70-26-1 (72%)

Jesse: 64-32-1 (66%)

Lonnie: 64-32-1 (66%)

Let's take a look at the card:

WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Match

Sasha Banks (WWE Smackdown Women's Champion) & Bianca Belair vs. Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler (champs)

Jesse: Why in the world is this match happening? Nia poses an injury risk to either Sasha or Bianca, and you don’t want that right before WrestleMania. I think Nia and Shayna retain due to some shenanigans.

W: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

Lonnie: Sasha and Bianca absolutely do not need to be the tag champs going into their WrestleMania match. I hope they lose so we can have the Women’s tag championships defended at Mania. I expect some sort of finish to keep both Sasha and Bianca strong despite losing and then continue to build the tension in their feud for the final 3 weeks til Mania.

W: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

John: I didn't like this match happening at Elimination Chamber and I like it even less now. Banks and Belair simply don't need to be tag champs heading into their Mania match. To be honest, I think the Nia/Shayna team has run it's course. The fact that they're still a team is the exact reason why Charlotte Flair will probably get to challenge Asuka at Mania because no one else has been built up (that's why Rhea Ripley can't show up fast enough). Nia/Shayna should win this and I suspect we may get a Banks heel turn following the match or during the match that leads to their downfall. I'd like to see Nia/Shayna defend and lose their tag titles at Mania so they can then split.

W: Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

WWE United States Championship Match

Mustafa Ali vs. Riddle (champ)

Jesse: What is going on with Ali and Retribution? I thought it was a great pairing at the beginning, but now they are barely above water. Ali needs a push but unfortunately it’s not going to happen here. Riddle wins and continues onto WrestleMania.

W: Riddle

Lonnie: WWE added this rematch last minute despite the champ winning just a few days ago. I’m not sure what the logic is here. Ali lost because his own guy distracted the referee. So why punish Riddle by making him have to defend again? Poor logic and storytelling aside, these guys can put on a good match and I expect this to be good if given adequate time (which I worry about due to the amount of matches). I don’t see a reason to cut Riddle’s still new title reign short in a match that was added last minute so I believe he will retain.

W: Riddle

John: This whole Retribution thing has ran it's course. It's been terrible since day one and now it's so far gone that nothing is going to fix it in my eyes. It would be best for Riddle to pick up a clean win and Ali loses it on the other members of Retribution. It's time to split Retribution and let them go their separate ways for better or worse.

W: Riddle

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

Apollo Crews vs. Big E (champ)

Jesse: This has actually been a fun feud. Big E has made the Intercontinental championship seem important, and Apollo has been great as a heel. This should be a great match and I see Big E retaining.

W: Big E

Lonnie: I really like the new Apollo. He was a stale not memorable babyface who would occasionally get your attention with cool moves. Now he finally seems to have a character and that's what you need to succeed. I feel that WWE is high on both of these guys right now so I could see this going either way. I do think these two will fight for the championship again at WrestleMania. I’m going to go out on a limb and say Apollo becomes the champ here and Big E can then get his rematch and redemption at Mania.

W: Apollo Crews

John: Apollo's new character has given him a better since of direction that he was desperately needing. He still needs to work on his accent as it's spotty in some promos but the effort is there and I can appreciate that. I think it's too soon to take the championship off of Big E. Regardless from the outcome, I think we're likely to get some form of a rematch at Mania.

W: Big E

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins

Jesse: I am oddly really excited for this match. Nakamura can bring it when he wants to, and hopefully him and Seth can put on a barn burner. I think this feud is a stepping stone to get Seth back to the main event picture, so he will win. Just imagine for a second a future feud of the Messiah vs the Head of the Table, or Seth vs Edge. The future is bright for Smackdown.

W: Seth Rollins

Lonnie: The waste of potential storyline with Rollins and Cesaro/Nakamura hits too close to home because it is so true. Regardless, I am very happy to see them use Rollins to try to elevate both Nakamura and Cesaro to the level that they both deserve. Unfortunately for Nakamura, I think Cesaro is going to be the big winner over Rollins down the line and to make that win big they will keep Rollins strong with a win here. Expect Cesaro to be involved either during or after the match.

W: Seth Rollins

John: This could be awesome! Sure, it was put together last minute but the action from bell to bell has potential to be the best on the card. I expect an appearance from Cesaro somewhere either during or after the match. Rollins should pick up the win here as he seems to be a collision with Cesaro for a match at Mania.

W: Seth Rollins

Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon

Jesse: This match was happening, then it wasn’t, now it is. This is more inconsistent than Ohio States free throw shooting. Wouldn’t surprise me if Shane gets out of this match in order to finally have the match at WrestleMania.

W: Shane McMahon

Lonnie: Everything about this is awful and it needs to end. Strowman will get his win at WrestleMania, but in any match before then I expect a Shane BS win or a stupid finish.

W: Shane McMahon

John: These segments are my post painful to review during Raw. Shane doesn't need to be involved in anything at this point and it's hard to make someone the size of Strowman a sympathetic baby face. I'm not convinced this match even happens. If it does, Shane will have some tricks up his sleeve to get the win and Strowman gets revenge at Mania.

W: Shane McMahon

Alexa Bliss vs. Randy Orton

Jesse: First off, what in the hell is this match? Don’t get me wrong this storyline is one of the best things on Raw at the moment, but this match will be interesting. We know it will lead to Brays return at WrestleMania, but I don’t know what will be the outcome of this match. I’m just going to go ahead and go with Alexa cause she’s great and from Columbus.

W: Alexa Bliss

Lonnie: Will this be the return of The Fiend? I’m not sure. He will be back soon but I am not sure when. Regardless I do not see this match ending with Randy pinning or making Alexa tap. I could see her winning with the Fiend’s help, but I honestly expect this to be a no contest and set up Orton/Fiend for Mania. It's too risky to predict a no contest so I’ll go with Alexa.

W: Alexa Bliss

John: I'm not sure what to expect here. This feud has been going on for months and I think we're going to get to the finish line soon. After Orton burned The Fiend, Bliss has had the upper hand for the duration of the feud. She's cost Orton countless matches and even a chance at the WWE Championship. This could go one of two ways. Orton destroys Bliss and the Fiend comes for revenge after or Orton is about to do something drastic (punt Bliss in the head or burn her) in which the Fiend makes the save and helps Bliss win. I also wouldn't rule out some sort of no finish. Matches involving the Fiend tend to do that. The safe bet is a Bliss win somehow and we finally get an appearance from the Fiend. I'm just begging WWE to make the Fiend look slightly different somehow. I mean we're suppose to believe he was burnt to a crisp after all.

W: Alexa Bliss

No Holds Barred Match

Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus

Jesse: This is another head scratcher of a match. I get that Drew gets a title shot at Mania, but this match just seems like a time filler to make Drew look strong. Let’s hope for no injuries.

W: Drew McIntyre

Lonnie: After their two matches the last few weeks I was looking forward to a third and decisive match....Then they announced that Drew will be challenging Lashley at WrestleMania. With that announcement I see no way that they would have Drew lose here. With Drew moving onto Lashley I have no idea what that leaves for Sheamus at Mania. Maybe Drew and him fight again after Mania.

W: Drew McIntyre

John: Man these guys have had some great brawls lately! Even if the no DQ match did end with the crappy stairs finish. When these guys go at it, they beat the hell out of each other and I suspect this will be no different. However, one of these guys is going on to a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania and the other has nothing planned. That in and of itself tells you who's winning this one. Sheamus will take McIntyre to the limit but McIntyre is going to Claymore his way to WrestleMania. This match could of benefitting by being an official number one contenders match. I still think McIntyre would win but it would of at least added some intrigued. Now, it's a foregone conclusion.

W: Drew McIntyre

WWE Universal Championship Match

Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns (champ)

Jesse: I have very much enjoyed this feud even with Edge being part of it as well. I wish it wasn’t as short as it’s going to be, but maybe they will revisit it at a later date. This match will probably be the match of the night, and a fun back and forth fight until Roman gets the upper hand and wins then faces off with Edge to close the show.

W: Roman Reigns

Lonnie: Roman isn’t losing the championship. I know we have already seen Bryan vs. Uso, but I hope this match leads to them having a match at WrestleMania as Bryan is great at all times and Uso deserves a big match after the year he has had. Edge will be involved and I believe will get the upper hand on Roman on this night to make him feel like a legit threat to win at Mania. The worst case scenario is Bryan wins the match but not the championship due to a screwy finish and they change the WrestleMania match to a triple threat. While it would be a good match I prefer to see Edge and Roman one on one.

W: Roman Reigns

John: I like Daniel Bryan just as much as the next guy and he's great but no one other than Roman Reigns should be taking the Universal championship into WrestleMania. Reigns has been money ever since returning at SummerSlam. Everything he does has been awesome from promos to matches. I fear something happens in order to get Bryan into the WrestleMania championship match but I hope that's not the case. Reigns should face Edge one-on-one at Mania unless they're worried Edge can't deliver at this stage in his career. Hopefully Uso helps cost Bryan leading to a grudge match between them at Mania. I'd even be alright with Edge making sure Bryan doesn't win because he wants Reigns all to himself. Either way, Reigns keeps the gold.

W: Roman Reigns
