Our 3 Cents - Extreme Rules 2022

Welcome to Our 3 Cents! The one night of the year where the WWE is suppose to go extreme. Thankfully, we have a card loaded with stipulations unlike last year where only one match was "extreme". The card looks pretty good to say the least. Without further to do......

John: 34-10 (77%)

Lonnie: 33-11 (75%)

Jesse: 26-18 (59%)

Let's take a look at the card:

Six Man Tag Team Good Old Fashion Donnybrook Match

The Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium

Jesse: It seems like every match on this card should be entertaining….except one, but we will get to that later. After Sheamus and Walter had one of the best matches of the year in the UK, I don’t expect anything less from this match. I don’t even know what a Donnybrook is, but it sounds amazing. I think Brawling Brutes come away with this victory to continue the feud.

W: The Brawling Brutes

Lonnie: It might just be me, but I feel this will be a hard hitting match that opens for show for 20-25 minutes like Triple H used to do with Takeovers. This could go either way, but I just feel that Imperium is on a roll after Gunther’s win last night and keeps it rolling here.

W: Imperium

John: Gunther has been able to turn back two challenges from Sheamus in two good matches. One of which could be match of the year. If the Brutes win, then this feud will continue. I think it's best for Imperium to win and get this feud over. There's a list of people I would love to see Gunther against.

W: Imperium

Fight Pit

Special Guest Referee: Daniel Cormier

Matt Riddle vs. Seth "Freaking" Rollins

Jesse: Just like Sami on Smackdown, these 2 have carried Raw over the last month. Every segment they have is just amazing, and now they added DC to be a ref, I just can’t get enough. This may be match of the night and hopefully ends their feud so they both can move on to bigger and better things.

W: Matt Riddle

Lonnie: Riddle has to win here right? If he doesn't, what was the entire point of this rivalry? Rollins has had the upper hand for what feels like the entire summer and Riddle needs something to give him some momentum. Rollins can afford a loss as well. The only way it would make sense for Rollins to win, would be if he was challenging for the championship next, but I just do not see that happening.

W: Matt Riddle

John: This could be the match of the night and adding Cormier is a nice touch. Hopefully, he doesn't influence the outcome too much. Rollins seems to have gotten the best of Riddle for the majority of the feud so this should be Riddle's big moment. I hate to see Rollins take another big loss but I think Riddle gets the win and puts this feud to rest.

W: Matt Riddle

Extreme Rules Match for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship

Liv Morgan (champ) vs. Ronda Rousey

Jesse: When I said every match would be entertaining except for one, this is the match I was talking about. They messed up Liv’s title run as soon as they did that dumb pin/tapping out finish and it has floundered ever since. I have a feeling they are going to put the title back on Ronda, but a sneaking suspicion of mine is Liv will retain then lose in the next month or so to a returning Charlotte. So Liv win’s in some finish that will look like the messed up one.

W: Liv Morgan

Lonnie: I am already shocked that Liv was the first person to beat Ronda twice. We won’t see it happen a third time. I think the Extreme Rules stipulation will give Liv a chance but I just don’t see Ronda losing a third time. Also, it's getting late in the year and WWE will want to get the championship on who they want leading into Mania season.

W: Ronda Rousey

John: I'm disappointed because WWE really had the opportunity to make Liv a huge star. For whatever reason, they just didn't have the confidence to put her over Rousey clean. Ever since SummerSlam, I feel as though Liv's reign has gone down hill. I'd be shocked to see Liv win and I think Rousey will take the win here.

W: Ronda Rousey

Strap Match

Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross w/ Scarlett

Jesse: Drew should be universal champ right now. His match with Roman was amazing and sold me on Drew after disliking him for so long and he should have won so we would finally return to having a fighting champ. But here we are without a universal title match at another PPV. Drew wins this to build his momentum back up and Kross can take the lose and still look strong.

W: Drew McIntyre

Lonnie: Has there ever been a really good strap match? I just don’t think the match lends itself to very good matches. That being said, I think Kross is an easy pick here. He just made his comeback and clearly Triple H has big plans for him. Beating Drew here should set him up to be the #2 heel behind Roman.

W: Karrion Kross

John: Strap matches are tough. I don't doubt that these two can have a good match together but I'm not sure about this stipulation. It really limits the competitors so I don't have high hopes to be honest. I think Kross will get the win here. It's his first big event on the main roster and I don't see where McIntyre goes after a win because he shouldn't face Reigns again. Kross gets the win with maybe some help from Scarlett.

W: Karrion Kross

Ladder Match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship

Bianca Belair (champ) vs. Bayley

Jesse: This match is going to be really good. Bailey can plan out great matches, and add in it being a ladder match, I think we will be on the edge of our seats the whole match. Bianca has had a nice reign but it’s time Bayley gets the title back after carrying the roster during the Thunderdome. Bayley wins in what could be the best women match of the year.

W: Bayley

Lonnie: I think this is the hardest match on the card to pick. A Belair win would be big for her here as she already has major wins over Sasha and Becky and this would add Bayley to the list. However, I think Bayley is going to win. I believe that will want to capitalize on how hot Bayley is since her return and make her champion. In a ladder match interference is legal and that tends to favor the heels. In what I expect to be a cluster of a finish Bayley wins, but Belair is set up to claim she deserves a rematch.

W: Bayley

John: This is a tough for me. Belair has been booked strong since winning the championship from Becky but Bayley has been built a real threat. Bayley even picked up a win over the champion at Clash at the Castle. I could see Bayley winning to give Damage Control all the gold but I am leaning towards holding it off for a bigger event. Belair wins here in a much loaded with interference.

W: Bianca Belair

"I Quit" Match

Edge vs. Finn Balor

Jesse: I have no idea where this feud is going, but I kind of want it to end. I think that Finn needs to win this, but I just don’t see Edge losing an I quit match. He will go all Brood Crazy and do something insane to win. Or maybe they both will say I quit at the same time. Who knows but I have a feeling Edge is being set up to feud with Roman after Survivor Series.

W: Edge

Lonnie: Who can afford to lose this: Balor or Edge? Edge is so over he can lose a good amount and it won’t matter. If Balor loses I feel like the Judgement Day is done. The only person they have been able to beat since they kicked Edge out is Rey Mysterio (which is not surprising because he is terrible). Judgement Day was spinning its wheels after Edge left and I think they have started to recover some momentum. I think a Balor win here is critical to the group as a whole and more specifically to Balor if they want to move him higher up the card (which may happen as Triple H likes Balor).

W: Finn Balor

John: I think these two have all the potential to deliver a banger. The stipulation normal lends itself for the face to win. However, I feel Balor needs to desperately win this for the sake of the Judgment Day. I don't think Edge will be hurt too bad by a loss as well. The Judgment Day has been able to beat Rey but has yet to get one over on Edge in an actual match. I can see the Judgment Day playing with Edge's emotions and going after Rey and maybe even Beth to make Edge quit to protect them.

W: Finn Balor
