Our 3 Cents - Clash at the Castle 2022

Welcome to Our 3 Cents! Today we have our first premium live event in Europe in SummerSlam 1992. The event sold tickets last crazy and the card looks pretty darn good! Below are our current standings for the year. Without further to do......

John: 25-8 (76%)

Lonnie: 24-9 (73%)

Jesse: 19-14 (58%)

Let's take a look at the card:

Edge & Rey Mysterio w/ Dominik Mysterio vs. Judgment Day w/ Rhea Ripley

Jesse: Okay after months of saying it, this will finally be the time that Dominik turns on his dad. They got the A&E show out of the way, so they can show highlights from that before the match.....then boom, kendo stick to the back while Rhea looks on smiling. Finn then finishes it off with the same 3 moves he does every match.

W: Judgment Day

Lonnie: I know Edge is finally involved after the Judgement Day has beaten the Mysterios for a month, but I still think Judgement Day wins here. Rhea has proven to be way more valuable than Dominik. Also, while I feel it should have happened a long time ago, maybe this is where Dominik turns on his dad.

W: Judgment Day

John: Judgment Day needs this more than words can say. Edge has gotten the better of them at every turn. By hook or crook, they should get the win and we may finally get the Dominik heel turn since there's something going on between he and Ripley.

W: Judgment Day

Six Woman Tag Team Match

Bianca Belair (WWE Raw Women's Champ), Alexa Bliss, & Asuka vs. Bayley, Iyo Sky, & Dakota Kai

Jesse: Well I guess this is a way to get these guys on the card. I will have to say that it is great that Bayley is back and seems to be better than ever. I see her team pulling off the victory to lead to a match between her and Bianca.

W: Bayley, Iyo Sky, & Dakota Kai

Lonnie: Thank goodness for the return of Bayley. Her return has immediately brought some much needed life and change to the Raw women’s division. This match is stacked with talent and should deliver. Because this is their first major match together the team of Bayley, IYO, and Dakota should win here to set up a Bayley title match soon.

W: Bayley, Iyo Sky, & Dakota Kai

John: Bayley and company have been heavily featured on Raw since their surprise return at SummerSlam and it's what the Raw women's roster really needed. We have six ladies in this match that can all deliver and I expect this to be a good match. When it comes down to it, the heels need to get the win. Belair, Bliss, and Asuka aren't a stable and most likely aren't going to team up too many more times. A win for Bayley's trio puts her in line for a championship match. After losing the finals of the tag title tournament, a win is needed for them to bounce back.

W: Bayley, Iyo Sky, & Dakota Kai

Matt Riddle vs. Seth "Freaking" Rollins

Jesse: If we don’t get a video package of these 2 fighting all the way over to England I will be disappointed. Give me them fighting at the security check, in the terminal, at the Starbucks while ordering a PSL (you know they both look like the drink those), waiting in line to get on the plane, on the plane, in the cockpit, on the runway….this could go on and on and I hope this feud does. I can see Riddle losing it and getting DQ’d to lead to a stipulation match…we haven’t had a buried alive in a while.

W: Seth "Freaking" Rollins

Lonnie: This has been a good feud but I am ready for it to end. I do think these guys will have a good match, but I just don’t believe in Riddle as a main event type guy. With Triple H taking over I feel like this is a Vince rivalry that needs to be wrapped up so Triple H can move Rollins onto better things. I expected them to make Riddle look great in defeat here though.

W: Seth "Freaking" Rollins

John: Everything Rollins touches this year has been amazing and this feud is no different. Roman Reigns has had a historic run but for me, it's Rollins who has been the MVP of this year in the ring and on the mic. Rollins took this feud to another level this past Monday by addressing Riddle's personal life issues and I think it made the feud feel genuine and give it some real heat. Now it feels like these guys should tear each other part. As for the winner, I feel Riddle's out of the ring antics are questionable for him to be pushed up the card and Rollins deserves the win for the incredible year he's having.

W: Seth "Freaking" Rollins.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

Gunther (champ) vs. Sheamus

Jesse: Between this match and Riddle/Rollins, they are going to carry this card. I just want 20 minutes of these 2 knocking the shit out of each other. Gunther is going to win, but this has the potential to be a classic.

W: Gunther

Lonnie: All I really have to say about this is that I wouldn’t want to be the one having to follow it on the card. This should be a hard hitting match of the night. I could see Sheamus winning as he is the veteran and its the first UK event in a long time, but Gunther is doing so well as the IC champion that I just don’t see them making a title change here.

W: Gunther

John: Now we're talking! This is the match I'm most looking forward to. I'm hoping we get fifteen or twenty minutes of these guys just beating the hell out of each other. Both men like to brawl and both can work stiff. I wouldn't be the one to follow these two. I expect something great here but would be a little shocked if we saw a title change. With that said, give me Gunther in one hell of a match.

W: Gunther

WWE Smackdown Women's Championship Match

Liv Morgan (champ) vs. Shayna Baszler

Jesse: This match is just to show that Liv can be an MMA fighter or something. They have already ruined her reign but doing that tap out/3 count thing with Ronda and the fans let her know it which was disappointing. Liv wins via tap out with some weird move she probably saw on YouTube.

W: Liv Morgan

Lonnie: It’s nice to see Shayna finally be used to her potential and be in a championship match. That being said, the Smackdown women’s division is a mess and is sorely missing the likes of Sasha, Ronda, and Charlotte. Liv’s championship win and defense at Summerslam were not convincing victories (a cash in and a fluke win). If they want her to be seen as a legit champion and to carry the division she needs a solid win here. Liv retains here, but I’m not convinced this will be a great match.

W: Liv Morgan

John: I'm really not sure on this one. Could Liv beat the MMA horsewomen back-to-back? I feel like Baszler is getting a complete and much needed reboot under the Triple H regime. Which is great in my opinion. She should have been built up as an ass kicker all along. I wouldn't be surprised by a Baszler win but feel as though Liv squeaks it out here. I'm not sure how much longer her reign will be though.

W: Liv Morgan

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Match

Roman Reigns (champ) vs. Drew McIntyre

Jesse: I will say this, Drew has won me over the past couple months. I never really cared for him, but now that he seems to have free reign on the mic and in the ring, he is entertaining. Will he win this match? No. But I think something fishy will happen before the start of the match.....Theory will cash in and make it a triple threat match. This clears the way for Drew to win the title in Europe, Roman doesn’t have to eat and pin, and Theory to look like an even bigger jackass by cashing in and failing.

W: Drew McIntyre

Lonnie: I broke my own rule at Summerslam and picked against Roman and got burned. So because of that, I am picking Roman here. I must say I am not confident in the pick though for multiple reasons. First, Triple H took over and he may have a different vision for what he wants in the main event. Does he want unified titles? Is he ok with a part time champion? Does he believe Roman should be booked as dominant as he has been? Only time will tell I guess. My other reason for not being super confident is that I still feel they owe Drew for carrying the company through the pandemic/Thunderdome times. If he can’t beat Roman overseas then he never will.

Winner: Roman Reigns

John: For the first time in a long time, it feels like there is a good possibility that Reigns could finally lose the gold. I mean we just passed the two year mark of his reign. What he's done is unheard of but I feel it's taking a little bit of a downturn since he went part time after Mania. The starts seem aligned for McIntyre to win the gold in front of a live crowd in Europe for the ultimate feel good moment. To me, it all seems to good to be true and most people don't get big wins in their hometown/country. There's rumors that the Usos and Heyman didn't make the trip over to Cardiff which could event the odds if true. I think we could be in for a surprise and another certain somehow cost McIntyre the win. No I don't think it'll be Karrion Kross (although I wouldn't be surprised. I think we get an appearance from TYSON FURY!! If you follow him, he's offically retired from boxing and he's had beef with McIntyre in the past via social media. I also believe that Fury said he would be at the event. I think Reigns continues his incredible run when Fury cost McIntyre the win.

W: Roman Reigns
